Camp bandage

Last weekend we attended camp bandage. It was a local event where all different types of people from the community came and set up booths to celebrate safety. The kids had a great time.

Basic Graduation

Last week I took the kids up to Missouri with my Dad. We went to see James graduate from Basic training. It was a hard trip, 3 kids in a hotel room isn't my favorite thing but I am really glad we went. The graduation ceremony gives you a small glimpse into what these guys go through and what it takes to not only complete this program but live this life and it's no small sacrifice. We were able to spend two days hanging out with James and then they shipped him of to AIT (advanced individual training) where he will receive training on becoming a medic. We are really excited and proud of him. We can't wait to see what the future holds.

Tulsa zoo

Ethan's preschool group had a zoo field trip on Thursday. Against my better judgement I let Caleb skip school and come with us. His behavior was terrible and I was frustrated but we still had a great time.

This sweet girl turned 2 this week. It's really hard for me to accept that she is growing up. She has been such a sweet and fun little baby. Although I will admit these last few weeks a more intense, dramatic and unhappy side has started to emerge. It's a tad scary. Things have been busy around here so we had a really low key birthday. We ate chicken nuggets and mashed potatoes (Molly's favorite) and some nutella cupcakes. She only had one present to open. It was a Doc Mcstuffins check up center and it has been a hit with all the kids. I really did have a little more planned but I ended up getting a bad migraine in the morning and since that knocks me out for several hours (it's hard to do much when you can't see and are sitting over a toilet puking) Nathan ended up just coming home and taking the kids to the children's museum instead. Hopefully next year we can do more and I am grateful she is so young she didn't even notice we didn't celebrate.

Here "cheese" face. We can't get her to smile with her eyes open for the life of us, which is unfortunate because she has beautiful blue eyes.

cows

One of the things we love about this house is the  acres and acres of cattle ranches that surround us. Our backyard backs right up to all these cows. The kids, especially Molly love to sit at the fence and watch the cows. I try not think about how small the fence in between them really is, and how large the cows really are. It's our own little piece of country right in the city, minus the mess and work of country. It's perfect.

our super heroes

These little boys obsessively love super heroes. Last week I was picking Caleb up from school and he told me he had a good idea, which was them dressing up in their costumes and fighting and I would take pictures. I laughed and then said ok, I am trying to learn more about my camera so I am usually up for some practice. They loved it, and I think I will print a few for their super hero themed room. These two certainly keep us busy and entertained.

school

I know it is really late but Caleb started pre-K this past year. It was a hard decision to send him to school and I went back and forth for months. Here in Oklahoma they have preschool through the public school and it is from 9-2:30 every single day. I personally felt like it was way to much schooling for him at this age. I looked around for other alternatives but there wasn't really anything that fit Caleb's needs. Caleb lives to play with other children. He makes friends everywhere we go and he is devastated days we don't leave the house, which is why I decided to enroll him in school. We put him in with the idea that we would see how it went and if he didn't like it or it wasn't working out we would pull him out. Well, he loves it. His teacher is absolutely amazing and he loves her. So far it has been wonderful and he wants to go every day. I have decided to keep him home one day a week to take him on a fun day, so one day a week he skips school and we go to the aquarium, zoo, park or just have a play date with friends at our house. I miss having him at home but I love how much he has learned and I love how much Ethan has changed getting the opportunity to be the oldest while Caleb is at school. Overall I really don't have any complaints.

Juicing

These two have really taken to juicing. If they juice it they will drink it. These two are ridiculously picky but for whatever reason they love juicing and it has added a whole new line of vegetables to their diet.

I frequently find these two hiding out in the garage. When they think I'm not looking they bust out their garage games, which usually consist of their version of rock band, Caleb on the drums and Ethan with the vocals or my favorite which is sure to end in injury, golf ball hammer. These two certainly keep us busy.

Krispy Kreme

A few weeks ago we took Ethan's joy school group to Krispy Kreme for a tour. We were working on the letter K so it seemed like a great fit. The kids loved the tour. They walked us through each step, let the kids play with the dough and then finally all the kids frosted and decorated their own donuts. Over all I was very impressed with Krispy Kreme and we enjoyed filling our bellies with delicious donuts.
