Happy Anniversary Nathan! It has been a fabulous 4 years with a lot of unexpected twists and turns but I am grateful to have you by my side during all of it. I am enjoying right now and looking forward to what the future has to hold.

Today is the day! Nathan officially starts his first day of MBA school. We are so proud of him and so appreciative of all the hard work he does for our little family. I am sure the next two/three years of working, going to school, raising a family, and serving at church will be a little hectic but we are grateful for this opportunity. Who would have thought this crazy/cute little boy would grow up to be so wonderful.

It is evenings like this one where we get to spend a few hours on the beach eating, relaxing and watching Caleb play that I know this is the right place for our little family. This little boy loves to be outside regardless of the burning hot temps or millions of bugs. He was made for a climate that is warm year around and a place with an abundance of water.
Nathan is starting grad school in a few days and although I am not super excited to be the wife of a college student again I am excited for him to have this opportunity to further his education and hopefully progress in his career. Because we know the fall is bringing lots of new changes (a new baby, and grad school) we are trying to soak up as much of this last week of summer as we possibly can.

We are almost ready for this new baby. One thing I really wanted before we ran out of wood from tearing out our deck was a toddler bed for Caleb. We almost made him a twin but because he is still so young and the room is pretty small we decided to go with a toddler. A couple weekends ago Nathan made him this bed to match our farmhouse bed (the plans are on the fabulous Anna-white website). I am so happy with how the bed turned out and can't wait to get started on some cute bedding and the rest of the decorations for our little boys room.
The placement of the bed might seem a little odd but it was tricky to layout this room in a way that Caleb couldn't use his bed to climb into the crib. I really don't want him getting into the babies crib.

We recently took a trip to Seattle! Although the actual process of getting there was a complete disaster (Caleb is the worst traveler) we had a fabulous time.
We spent some time doing a little hiking around the forest.
We struggled trying to figure out how to make the Ergo carry on the hip, this is completely incorrect but it worked for the time being.
We also headed out to the Lake so Nathan could do a little wake boarding. Caleb loved being in the boat even though it was cold and windy.
One day we planned to go to the zoo but first stopped by the mall to look at a few things and ended up skipping the Zoo completely because Caleb was having such a great time at the little mall play place.
Caleb found this back massager quite entertaining.
And lastly we spent a lot of time walking around craft fairs, art shows, little shops, and the water front. We loved being outside so much and enjoyed the wonderful weather and company.
On a side note this is probably the last picture I will get of Caleb doing the "knee walk" because he is a running little man.

Can you believe it! It has been a year since we moved into our house. We love this house and have had so much fun making it our own, but after looking at these pictures it is obvious we still have a long ways to go.

Please excuse my lack of photography skills. Some of the colors in these pictures are off a little, for example our bed is not nearly as bright as it appears in the picture but since these are mostly just for my own journal keeping I figure it doesn't really matter.
*If you look really closely at the new living room pictures you can see the new arbor Nathan built to cover our back patio and keep the sun out. Pictures of that coming soon.
