Nathan's mom taught us how to make stained glass! It was really fun but a lot more work and a few more steps than i was wanting. Luckily though we love the finish product, even if it isn't perfect.

Ahhh the power of music...

We did go see David Archuleta last night... and yes he was pretty AMAZING! I still can't believe how powerful his voice was. Even with the terrible acoustics in the Hart auditorium he sounded incredible. Nathan works for event services so we technically worked the event. After the concert started we got to stand back with the sound guys and watch the show which was pretty cool. If you ever have the chance to hear him live, take it because it is so worth it!

Since i love CHRISTMAS i had to start on some Christmas Crafts... here is the first one i have finished. It's an advent calendar made out of a mini muffin tin. All the paper squares have magnets on the back so you just put a little surprise in the muffin tin and then kids... or yourself can pull off the little square for each day. I think it turned out pretty well. Sorry the pictures are crappy, I am terrible with a camera.

Thanks for the tree Chace and Rivka!

Mini Baja!

Saturday my dad and two sisters came to visit. Luckily that was the same day Nathan and his SAE buddies were taking the mini baja out for a test drive. The goal was to break as many things as possible and find all the weak spots on the car. We all had such a fun time trying to wreck the car... well until Hana decided to actually wreck it. Hana took it off a pretty steep cliff and when she landed the front left axle (i think) broke and that was the end of the joy rides.
I think the best part was how much fun (see picture above) my old dad had driving it. He was better than a little kid in a candy store. What a great way to spend the weekend with my family.

These are my thoughts...

1. wrote an article about the cash for clunkers program, of course there results are different from the governments. The government is now mad at i think i am starting to like them more and more.

2. Nathan and I often complain about BYU-Idaho but today i realized we are so blessed to be here. I have an amazing job, my academic advisor has bent over backwards to make all my practicums work out and i got $1000.00 scholarship for no reason. BYU-Idaho is great!

3. My dad and sisters are coming up tomorrow morning for a weekend of delight! I can't wait to see them.... and my new car.

4. It snowed all night last night and it's still here today... that is never a good thing.

5. And lastly, Nathan cut me out of piece of metal with our last name on it for one of my craft projects... but he spelled it Wilcoson.... i have been smiling all day!

Religous Freedom!

A few weeks ago Elder Oaks gave a talk here at BYU-Idaho on Religous freedom. It was an unbelievable experience to be here for this talk. When Elder Oaks started the talk he made the comment that this talk will be everywhere and that it isn't just for students here at BYU-Idaho but for the world!
I can't even believe how fast the talk has sprung up all over. I am seeing it on blogs and news reports everywhere.

Here is a link to the talk:

and after you read that rent this awesome documentary by Ben Stein called,'Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed'

here is a link for some info on it if you haven't heard about it:

White Bread

Nathan will only eat white bread... and so far we haven't found a recipe that is good enough for him. Got any white bread recipes that are moist and Delicious?

We just got Adobe CS4. I don't really know how to use it yet but i have just been playing around on it for a few minutes and it is pretty exciting. I am hoping great things will be coming out of this little program very soon!

I can't decided who i think was a worse choice for the Nobel Peace Prize, Obama or Al Gore?

Sunday, October 4, 2009

A few sundays ago we forgot to bring our keys with us to church... consequently when we got home we were locked out. While i was sitting on the stairs wondering what we should do about the problem Nathan had the great idea to JUMP from the balcony to the window, and then proceeded to try and break in while hanging from a very tiny practically non existent ledge while he busted the screen out. Of course i was paranoid that he would fall and die but after a few minutes he managed to get the screen out and pull himself inside our apartment. Looking back we both can't figure out how he actually managed to break in and not fall or get hurt. Its always such an adventure with Nathan around!

I am not usually a big promoter of President Clark (the president of BYU-Idaho)... but he gave an AWESOME devotional a couple weeks back and i would really encourage you to read it.

Welcome to the Wilcoxson Winery! Last weekend we headed down to Spanish Fork to make grape juice. Nathan's Grandpa has a yard full of grapes so we spent an hour picking grapes and then we steamed them into grape juice. The whole process was amazing and so much fun... oh and did i mention FREE (thats always my favorite part)! I think in the end we made about 70 bottles of grape juice. Luckily there were plenty of people to give them away to but we still ended up with all these.

Here are some pictures from our trip to D.C. back in Aug! We had such a good time! We love the east coast and wouldn't mind living there some day. We also really appreciate the generosity of the family members who made this trip possible and so much fun. (mainly my dad!)
For some reason the first picture won't turn around... i dunno

Something Meaningful

Just Read this Talk... Its absolutely WONDERFUL! Even after the 100th time its still great!
Concern for the One
Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin
Here is a preview...
“Shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad. Let the earth break forth into singing. . . .
“ . . . Let the woods and all the trees of the field praise the Lord; . . . and let all the sons of God shout for joy!”
For you members of the Church who hold back because of feelings of inadequacy, I plead with you to step forward, put your shoulder to the wheel, and push. Even when you feel that your strength can add little, the Church needs you. The Lord needs you. Remember that the Lord often chooses “the weak things of the world” to accomplish His purposes.6

How risky is it to buy contacts online?

I am a pretty political person... and therefore i have to say this. Health care is not a RIGHT it's a PRIVILEGE. I also think Americans need to stop thinking they are entitled to things just because they were born... the world owes you nothing.

Eating Disorder...

You know you have an eating disorder when two people continually accumulate this many dishes every night...and yes i use my dishwasher as a drying rack. I still wash them by hand, probably always will.

Movie Time!

Since Nathan and i got our new TV we have been watching lots of movies... and we love it! But i need to put a plug in for our new favorite movie place. Its called Great American Video and they rent edited movies! Its so great because they are only $2.00 for a night (almost as cheap as redbox)! The problem is if they don't get more business they are going to close and that would be so sad because we just love them! So if your in Rexburg stop and visit Great American Video.

Tomorrow will mark the end of our first year of MARRIAGE! It has been a year full of fun... excitement... laughter...sillyness...sadness...heartbreak...trials...and so so much more. I couldn't have done it without my best friend at my side. I love you NATEY ROY! and i am excited for all the wonderful years we have to come!

I Never WIN things! But Today i won something! My good friend Jessic Kingsford is the most amazing Mary Kay consultant, (not pushy, easy going, fun to be around, honest, tells you things how they really are... you know the kind of salesman you love but can never seem to find) Well she had a Mary Kay party and she was giving away a Coach BAG! and we all know i LOVE LOVE LOVE (LUST) Coach! So they had a drawing at the end of the party. They put all the names in a Hat... then picked one out... and then called HEIDI WILCOXSON! I wanted to scream i was so excited! and that is how i won this beautiful Coach Purse.

Another project....

Today i finished another project. My Grandma used to make stockings like this for all her kids... but she died a long time ago and so there was no one to make one for Nathan. And of course i took on the challenge and challenge it was. There were 120 steps that all had to be hand sewn. Now i am just waiting for the school sewing lab to open to embroider Nathans name...

Sunday, August 23, 2009

Saturday morning i woke up with the urge to do something a little modern with this boring white wall.
So after a trip to D. I. and a can of spray paint this was the result... I am kind of excited about the end of the Old Lady decor.

Friday, August 21, 2009

We are officially moved... oh but that is not the exciting thing. Not only did we move this week but Nathan finally built me a coffee table. Being on a small budget of $12.00 we carefully scoped out the best 2x4's we could find. After we finished at the lumber yard we proceeded to the Bishops fancy woodshop to start our masterpiece. Neither Nathan or I had any idea of what we were going to create but we got started in cutting and sanding... and wala a few days later out came this!

We are finally moving today... i have waited so long for this it almost doesn't feel real.

Washington D.C.

Last week while in Washington D.C. we were lucky enough to visit all the memorials and monuments. When we stopped at the World War II memorial we came across these little signs all around the pool.

We then came across all of these people who were wading in the water. You probably can't tell but at least half of them have at least their dirty feet in the water and some are in past their knees.

I was blown away by this scene. Are Americans really that disrespectful that they would put their dirty sweaty gross feet in a fountain created in memorial of all those who died in saving lives and protecting our freedom?

Other than that the memorial was beautiful and such an awesome sight! I would highly reccomend the adventure out to D.C. just to pay tribute to all those who have given their lives for what we call America.

All things electronic!

All things electronic are about to be banned from this house! A few weeks ago my ipod broke and died for no reason..... a week ago Nathans laptop broke and died for no reason (he treats it so well and has taken such good care of it) and then today.... my phone broke and died for no reason. I feel so lost i can't communicate with ANYONE! I know its sad that i am this attached to a cell phone but really i feel like i am running around with my head chopped off. So we are no longer allowed to buy electronics. This house has to learn to live without.

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Okay, really quickly i just need to put in a plug for PRICELINE! So we are headed to Washington D.C. in less than two weeks! My family rented a house to stay in for the week but we are arriving two days before the family does so we are homeless for two nights. So being on a budget i wasn't exactly sure what to do. I had used the "name your price" gadget on priceline once before and it worked out well but i thought you had to name your price the day of your stay. Well yesterday i found out you can name your price in advance... sweet music to my ears. So today i named my price and wala i got a 31/2 star hotel... a marriott residence inn for $50 bucks a night! It has a free shuttle, a pool, hot tub, a kitchen, living room, and dinning room, a free hot breakfast (not the cheap kind where they put out some muffins and juice, this is the real deal with a chef that makes omelets!), a tennis court, free light dinners (whatever that means), internet services, 2 TVs in the suite, and so much more and all this in Washington D.C.! I was pretty excited about the good deal and then to top it all off i looked up how much it would be to book this hotel through the Marriott website and they are charging $256 for the same room we just got via priceline for $50. I have most certainly been won over by Priceline... i will never use anything else to book hotels!

Happy Birthday Katie

Tomorrow is my sister in Law Katie's birthday... so we took it upon our selves to do a little redecorating for her...
