3 Months

- 11 1/2 pounds
- sleeping 7-8 hours at night
- cooing and smiling when we talk to him
- loves to lay under his play mat and swat at things
- can sit in the bumbo chair
- puts up with lots of abuse from his brother
- taking zantac for his acid reflux
- eating about 4 ounces every 3 hours
- is a slave to his pacifier
- loves being held
- rarely ever cries
- likes to be wrapped really tight in his giraffe blanket
- still isn't the greatest napper
- hates being on his tummy

He really has been such a blessing for our little family. I can't imagine life without him and his sweet disposition and happy personality is an answer to our prayers.

Santa Clause

Last weekend our church had a Christmas party. Of course Santa happened to be at the party and I thought it would be fun for Caleb and Ethan to take a picture with him. I put Caleb on Santa's lap and he didn't seem to mind at all, but then I put Ethan on Santa's lap and Caleb went crazy! He was so upset, he screamed and cried. I quickly took him off an he calmed down in no time after being handed a candy cane.

After Santa and dinner there was a program. As part of the program the children created a nativity and sang Away in a Manger. Caleb was one of the angels. Do you see him on the far left... ya he didn't exactly stay where he was supposed to, instead he walked around picking up props and dancing. I think he even clapped at the end when the adults started clapping. I wish I could get the video loaded because it is pretty funny.

Christmas Train

I love Christmas and all the traditions that usually accompany the holiday. One of my favorite childhood traditions is this train. As a little kid my dad would put it up every year. As kids we really loved this train and we often found ourselves in bed early for loving it (touching it and knocking it off the track) just a little too much.
Over Thanksgiving my Dad brought the train to us! YEAH! And now Nathan and I get to share this tradition with our little boys. As soon as we put it up Caleb loved it. He loves to sit and watch it go around and around. Thanks for bringing this to us, Dad.

Life with 2

Yesterday I attempted to take a few photos of the boys in hopes to get one good enough for our Christmas card this year... as you can see by the ones below it was a little chaotic.

Natural Bridge Caverns

While on our  trip to San Antonio with our families we stopped at the Natural Bridge Caverns. They are located about 30 minutes northeast of San Antonio. The caverns were really neat. It is worth your time to stop in and take the tour if you are ever in the area. It took about an hour to get through them and the tour is guided. Although our guide was a 17 year old girl who mumbled and talked unbelievably fast so whatever information she might have been spewing was probably worth knowing but since nobody could understand her, we will never know.

See the angry face below? Caleb hated the whole experience. I wouldn't advise taking toddlers who hate the dark and being confined in a small space.

pushing pigs

This past weekend Nathan's parents and my dad and sister came into town for Ethan's blessing. Friday we headed up to San Antonio for the weekend and one of the first stops we made was the zoo. It is a great zoo and we had a fabulous time. Caleb's favorite part was the petting zoo where he tried to push the pigs around. We all got a good laugh out of watching him get behind those pigs and push them until they moved. This little boy has no fear.

This little man slept for 7 hours last night! I feel like a completely different person today.

Ethans big day!

We had the opportunity of blessing Ethan this past Sunday. It was a fabulous weekend filled with food, fun, and family! The highlight of course was Sunday when Nathan was able to give Ethan a name and a blessing to go on the church records. The blessing of course was beautiful and I wish I would have written it down as soon as it was over. Nathan was able to give Ethan this blessing and one thing I remember him doing was blessing Ethan with compassion, and love for those around him. More than anything I want to teach these two little boys to be kind. I want them to love those around them, and I want them to be compassionate. I was so grateful for this special day and I am so grateful for this little family I have. They truly are my greatest joy and my biggest blessing.

Day 13

Day 13: Baby Bjorn
This baby bjorn has saved my life now that I have two kids. Ethan feels like the world is going to end if one of us isn't holding him and for whatever reason he loves to snuggle up in this baby bjorn as I do my household chores and that is just fine with me.

Day 12

Day 12: Cameras
I am so grateful someone invented the camera. I am not sure what I would do if I wasn't able to capture all of these great memories. And it would be such a tragedy if I wasn't be able to embarrass these two little boys in 15 years in front of their girlfriends with pictures of them in their underwear.

Day 9: My home
Grateful to have a roof over my head each night.

Day 6

Day 6: Nathan
I am so grateful for Nathan and so lucky to have him as a husband. He works so hard for our little family and is a way better father to our two little boys then I could ever have asked for. He is my best friend, my solid foundation, my reality check, and the love of my life.

Day 4

Day 4: Nathan's Job
Today we are so grateful that Nathan has a job (even if they do require him to wear a funny blue suit). In this economy a good job can be hard to come by and we are grateful that Nathan has a good job that not only he loves but also supports our little family. I am especially grateful that his job has supported us so I can stay home with my little boys and not miss out on a minute of their lives.

Houston Zoo

A couple of weeks ago we got the chance to visit the Houston Zoo when Nathan's work training meeting got out early. The zoo was an absolute blast. They had so many great things for kids. Caleb ran around like crazy touching and climbing on everything. We all had a great time.

He was a little unsure about the carousel at first but once it stopped and we made him get off he cried to get back on.

The best part of the whole trip was when we got to the chimpanzee exhibit. One of the Chimps was super interactive and Caleb would bang on the window and then the Chimp would stand up and bang on the window which would send Caleb into and uncontrollable laughter. It was hilarious and went on for awhile.

The zoo even has a really great splash park right in the middle of the kids zone. Of course only in south Texas is it still hot enough that it would still be open at the end of October.

They had a really great petting zoo and of course our little animal lover had a great time and didn't want to leave. He would grab and try to hold all of the goats hands, I am sure they were happy to see him go.

If you ever get at chance to go I would reccomend it, this zoo was by far one of the best and most little kid friendly! We all had such a great time.

Day 3

Day 3: My little boys! I love my little family more then anything and I am so grateful for these two little boys that have made me a mom. It really is the greatest (hardest) job in the world.

Day 1

Today is day 1 of my "30 days of Thanks." I love this little project because it gives me an opportunity to remind myself of all the good in my life. When I sit down and really focus on all I have it is amazing how much I have to be grateful for.

Day 1
Caleb's sense of humor. This little man is so funny and Nathan and I are so grateful for that. Recently while I was feeding Ethan, Caleb decided he needed a little R&R and went into our bedroom, turned on the baby swing and sat in it. When I came in he was just chillin. It's moments like these that I realize how much Caleb is like Nathan and how much fun we are going to have.

A little disaster...

Although Nathan and I do love projects occasionally we get one that is unsolicited. A few Sundays ago right before we were headed out for church Nathan noticed something that sounded like a hose (I was trying to get two little boys ready and was completely oblivious). When he went to figure out what the sound was (after finishing the dishes) he realized it was our guest bathroom toilet. A ring that seals the pipe that is connected to the wall busted and water was poring out the pipe. The bathroom, hallway, and both bedrooms were filled with water. Nathan quickly shut off the water and grabbed the shop vac so he could start sucking the water up out of the carpet. It took him almost two hours to suck out the water and several trips of dumping out a very full shop vac. Although the carpet seemed like it wasn't to wet Nathan went ahead and ripped some up to see what the pad underneath was like and it was completely soaked. So we ended up ripping up all the carpet, pulling out the pads and hanging them up in the garage to dry out and then putting buckets under the carpet so it would air dry. It was such a mess and keeping Caleb out of it was impossible.
Luckily for us we were headed to Houston for the week so we were able to get out of the house for the week while the carpet was drying out. We came back from Houston and Nathan relaid the carpet but it is bumpy and needs to be replaced by a professional so hopefully sometime after the holidays we will be putting in new carpet.

"The Church"

There is a wonderful church here in town that opens up there gym (and fills it with fun toys) to the community every Thursday. One of our good friends introduced us to it several months ago and ever since then we have spent almost every Thursday morning there. Caleb loves it and it is a great place for him to not only get all his energy out but also to interact with other kids. The first time we went he was a little over stimulated by everything but since then he has been full swing all over the place. We are really grateful to this church for being so generous with their facilities.
