Oh where oh where is my hairbrush?

This little man no longer needs a hairbrush! Caleb's hair was getting ridiculously long and was constantly in his eyes but I didn't have the heart to cut it because I knew it would mean the end of all his dark baby hairs. Nathan on the other hand had no problem giving him a buzz one night after work. After Nathan finished we both looked at each other and said, "he isn't a baby anymore!" And it is most certainly true he no longer looks like our little baby, he looks like a little boy.

Beach 2 Bay!

We did it! Nathan and I participated in our first marathon relay race. For the last 37 years Corpus Christi has held the Beach to Bay marathon relay. Each team has 6 runners and the legs are about 4 miles each. The first leg starts on the beach (that is the leg I ran) and then it runs along the water until you reach the bay front, hence the name Beach to Bay. There were some obstacles including, pregnancy, bridges, unpacked sand, the heat and humidity that most certainly slowed us down but overall we did great and had a lot of fun! Here is to hoping there will be many more years of running not only this event but lots of others.

The Beach

We finally made it out to the beach with Caleb this year. We were a little hesitant of how he would respond to the sand and water but this fearless child loved every bit of it.

He was a little man on a mission. As soon as Nathan or I would set him down he went straight for the water. We thought if we let the water splash him in his face or cover him it might scare him so he wouldn't go straight towards it but we were so wrong. He loved it, Nathan let him get completely covered by a few waves and every time he came up laughing and wanting more.

10 Months

Our little man is 10 months old (don't look back and see all the months I missed)! It is hard to believe that he has been here that long. He is an absolute blast to have around. It is crazy to think how far he has come in these last 10 months. To say that he is Nathan and I's pride and joy would be a complete understatement because he is that and SOOO much more.

- Weighs 22 pounds (he has lost a little over a pound in the last month)
- 29 inches tall
- Is standing up on his own
- Walks around holding on to someones hand or pushing a toy, or chair
- Loves to be tickled
- Runs to the door in the afternoon to great Nathan when he hears it open
- Will eat almost anything we give him
- Has learned out to turn pages in a book
- Is climbing on everything, I have found him on the table on several occasions
- Loves the water and anything water related
- Is a mover, he absolutely NEVER sits still

Splash Park

One of the benefits of Nathan's job is that a lot of the places around town give discounts to Flint Hills employees. When we found out that there was a discount for a season pass to the local aquarium we jumped on it and bought a membership, not because we love the aquarium but because the aquarium hosts what I think is the cities only splash park. Because it is so hot here the splash park is open from March to October and we have already gotten more then our moneys worth. Caleb has loved it from day one and so I imagine we will be spending lots of the summer soaking up the sun here.

Next time you walk by your diaper bag on the floor and the thought crosses your mind to pick it up so Caleb doesn't get in it, don't be so lazy and just do it or you might end up with an entry way, child, diaper bag and all the contents inside covered in a mixture of kit kat bar and slober. Gross huh???
