A few weeks ago we had some family pictures taken by our wedding photographer Ruth Reese. Not only was it fun to see her again she takes such great pictures for a very affordable price. We love her work and were so happy with how well our pictures turned out. We know how hard it can be to photograph our three crazy kids so it was a surprise we even got one good picture. We had lots that we loved so this is just a small sample of some of our favorites.

Here is a little house update. Everything is going painfully slow. Just when we finally thought things were picking up a tornado came through and tore apart our garage door and back door causing the great room to flood. Luckily the only thing in there were the newly laid (not yet sanded or stained) wood flooring. They had to rip out all the flooring in the kitchen and dining area and fix some drywall which has once again slowed down the building process. The rain has also been relentless and crazy this May. That has caused a delay in the exterior paint, brick and installing our storm shelter. We are hoping for a few dry days in the next few days and some speedy workers to put us back on schedule. As of now we are looking at mid July for a move in date.
Front of the house
Study, on the right side of the house right as you walk in the front door.

The living room.
Pantry under the stairs. This is actually on the right side when you walk in from the garage.
The laundry room. We got lucky with our laundry room, kitchen and mud area. We originally had decided not to pay for the upgrades in all three areas to keep our costs down but the cabinet company went ahead and put in the mud room cabinet, all these in the laundry room and a few extra things in the kitchen at no charge.
Our extra mud room cabinet that sits right off the garage door.
The master bedroom.
The kitchen. You can see where they had to rip out the flooring and are waiting for that to finish so they can finish the cabinets.

One side of the master closet. It turned out much bigger then we thought.
Master bathroom cabinets.
Top of the stairs, looking into the playroom.
The playroom. We love all the big windows. This house has tons of natural light and it is one of our favorite things about the floor plan.
View of the front door, study, a closet and the half bath.
Dining area, which is connected to the kitchen.
This is the flooring from the kitchen (where the wood ends) to the garage. On the right is the laundry room and the left is the pantry and mud room area.
Living room windows. We love looking out the windows because our lot backs up to a cattle ranch and it is full of cows and horses. There were a lot of babies born recently and they are so fun to watch.
The fireplace. We were a little unhappy with the brick when we first saw it but I think it is growing on us.
That pretty much sums up the progress of our house. This week they are supposed to stain and paint. All the bathroom cabinets will be stained brown and all the kitchen and laundry cabinets will be off white. The cabinet colors were the scary and most anticipated decision so we are very anxious to see how they look.
