This is what you get when you play in a competitive softball league with a bunch of old men...

The biggest downfall to moving to Texas has been that we had to leave most of our stuff behind. So naturally we didn't have room for our bed, so therefore we have spent the last two months sleeping on an air mattress. The problem is as soon as we patch up one hole we find another. I think Nathan is now working on his 11th patch and you know what that means, there have been 11 nights (or more) that we have woken up on the floor with an empty air mattress. We try and find the humor in the situation but I don't know if we have enough to last until August. In the mean time I will go help Nathan put another patch on the air mattress.

Just a quick update....

Life is back in full swing for Nathan and I. I finally broke down and got a job. I am working for a daycare running there summer camp program for school aged children. So far so good. It keeps me pretty busy working almost 50 hours a week plus the out of school time planning two field trips a week and three days of fun and crazy activities. It is an 11 week program and each week has a specific theme. Next week the theme is gross and gooey.... which should culminate a lot of crazy projects and fun stuff.

Nathan is still working full time as an intern and loving it. A couple weeks ago he started playing on a softball team with a couple of guys from his work. The games have been really exciting because these boys are competitive.

Lastly we are both still trying to muster up the energy to finish our online classes. I think we are almost half way done. It's amazing how much harder it is to motivate yourself when your outside of Rexburg and no longer in the school zone.

Overall though we are having a GREAT time in Texas and we really love it!

This past weekend Nathans parents came to visit! Before heading off to San Antonio for the weekend we went on a tour of the USS Lexington. I thought it was going to be lame but it was AMAZING! I can't believe the amount of history on this one aircraft carrier. It really was truly an experience.

After the Lexington we headed out to San Antonio for the weekend. It was so much fun and San Antonio is such a cool city to visit. You would be amazed at all the fun and random things there are to do. We will most definitely be back.
Here we all are on board a small river boat that gives you a tour of the river.

Of course we had to stop at the Alamo. I felt a little uneducated when we were there, we stopped and listened to a volunteer tell the story of the Alamo and there was so much I didn't know. I guess I will have to add reading a book on the Alamo to my summer list of things to do.

Overall the weekend was wonderful and we had such a good time!

P.S. my brother is coming home from his mission on Thursday! He has been in England for the past two years and next week I finally get to see him! I can't wait!

Today we got to go with the youth in our ward to the San Antonio temple! It was amazing and could be one of the prettiest I have been in yet. We absolutely loved it, everything about it from the peace and comfort you feel when you walk in the door to the colorful stain glass windows that allowed small pillars of light to shine in and onto the font. If you are ever in the area you have to find the time to stop by. I promise it will be more than worth it.

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Watch out everyone! Here he comes! Today was Nathans first day in the "real world", or at least he is getting a taste of it this summer at his internship with Flint Hills Resources. He was pretty excited this morning to start putting all of his knowledge to work out on the job. He even got up extra early to make himself a hearty breakfast and pack a lunch, well see how long that lasts.

Moving Day!

We packed up all our stuff and moved it to storage aka the Haderlie's basement, April 3rd. Of course when we woke up to a foot of fresh snow and at least 20 mile an hour winds we were a little concerned. I can even remember Nathan saying," if anyone comes and helps us move in this crazy weather we owe them at least a steak dinner." Luckily we had some really great friends and family that helped us and we were able to get it all moved in a timely manner! Only in Rexburg is it still pouring down snow in APRIL!

"The gospel calls us to stretch ourselves, to embrace our talents, to concentrate on our strengths, to be productive, to be creative, to reach our full potential, which few of us ever do. We seem to get discouraged by such trivial things and fail to see the great things we are capable of doing."
- Marjorie Hinckley
